DANFORTH ANNOUNCEMENTS
A Bible Study will begin on Wednesday afternoons beginning February 29th! Topics under consideration are: 1) Jonah, Joseph, and Noah: Moral Heroes in the New Testament? 2) Finding the Book of Isaiah in the Book of Acts. Please let Tim Reimer know which, if any, of these topics interest you, and whether you would be willing to lead one or more Bible studies.
The food bank at Woodbine Baptist Church is in need of empty egg cartons. If you have any empty cartons, please bring them to church and Barb Bryson will take them to the food bank.
Take a leap forward with Outreach on Feb. 29 at 7:00 p.m. We’ve had lots of input and sharing of great ideas about where to go with outreach/service and now it’s time to get into action. Come and help us plan for a service and fellowship event for a Saturday in the spring. Come with ideas of who might need help and information about the kind of help needed. Some ideas to get you thinking: doing yard work for Salome Harrison, preparing the playground for summer use at SCOC, sorting food at the food bank, having a coffee with a street person, giving a mom/parents a break by playing with their kids, ??? You get the idea….the possibilities are limitless so we need your help in choosing a few the first time around. At the meeting I’ll give more information about how it can all work but you know there will be food involved! Hope to see you there!
“A Second Cup of Worship” Everyone is invited to a finger food pot-luck breakfast on Saturday, March 10, 9:00 a.m. Tim Reimer will interactively share his experiences of worship in many different churches during his five month sabbatical. Depending how the Spirit moves, we may come away with an armload of recipe books for delicious worship experiences, or we may just want to sit there and meditate for a looooong time afterward. Or both!
Come celebrate the work of MCC and raise funds for the Black Creek Pioneer Village Relief Sale! You are invited to our annual meeting on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 6:30pm at Rouge Valley Mennonite Church. Dessert and homemade ice cream will be served at 6:30pm followed by our annual meeting, music by Rouge River Connection, a live auction to cover the costs of the sale and guest speaker Margaret Amanatides. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear about the work of MCC and support the Black Creek Pioneer Village Relief Sale. Hope to see you there!

Registration Deadline: Saturday, March 10, 2012 Register with ARC at 519-883-8906 or info@arcministries.ca Leader: Betty Pries. The work of the church, whether at committee or congregational meetings, often involves tough decisions – each of which presents both promise and peril. Led well, challenging conversations can strengthen congregational engagement and deepen the spirituality of the church. Led less well, however, these same conversations can tear at the very fabric of the church. This workshop is for anyone who finds themselves leading meetings at church who has wondered how they can improve their skills in this important part of the church’s ministry and identity.
