Call to Worship

Leader:                Our God is the great God, mighty and awesome!

People:                The Lord our God is God of gods and Lord of lords!

Leader:                Our God shows no partiality and takes no bribes.

People:         Instead, the Lord executes justice for the orphan and the widow.

Leader:            Our God loves the immigrant, providing them food and clothing.

People:           We also love the immigrant, because we were immigrants in this land.

All:                  Let the Lord of immigrants prove this love through our hearts and hands!

TRC Call to Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for creating so many different cultures and languages.  You truly are a creative God.  Thank You for giving us the gift of language, through which we can express ourselves in ways that are unique to our cultures.  We acknowledge that Your revealed plan for reconciliation includes:

“…a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands” (Revelation 7:9 ESV)

With this kingdom picture in mind, we pray that the government will acknowledge that Aboriginal rights include Aboriginal language rights and therefore should be respected and taught accordingly.  May these acknowledgements help all Canadians recognize the many unique First Nations rights, values, and cultures.   Amen

My husband and I are moving to Toronto this fall and are starting to think about community and housing. We currently attend Mannheim Mennonite Church outside of KW and have heard great things about the Danforth Mennonite. If any community members have space available for, we would greatly appreciate any help we could get. We would be open to communal living and/or renting.
In peace and friendship,

All of us are concerned about the fires in British Columbia and the devastation that is happening there and we at MDS are following the fires closely.  Please put the following announcement into your church bulletin for July 16 & 23.  Thanks so much.

Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) receiving financial donations for forest fires in British Columbia.  People in BC have already lost houses to the fires and we are planning for MDS volunteers to help in the recovery phase of this disaster. MDS is accepting financial donations for that recovery. For further updates on the MDS response and financial donations go to or call the MDS office at
