Save the date – Sun. August 23 – for a farewell potluck lunch for Ruth Ewert Big changes are coming for Ruth… she’s retiring, selling her home in Toronto, and moving back to Manitoba! Linda and Dermot Donohoe are hosting a potluck lunch at their home (55 Butterworth Ave.) on Aug. 23rd and anyone who would like to come and wish Ruth “farewell and all the best” is welcome to join us. Bring a dish to share and a chair (if you want to be sure you have a seat). Hope to see you there!
Return to Palestine– for learning, for service, for peace. Rachelle Friesen, who preached at Danforth several weeks ago, is still hoping to return to Palestine to continue her work at learning the language and at building peace. To do this she will need first to have the Israeli government overturn the travel ban they imposed on her for attending a peaceful event for which she was granted permission by an Israeli official. A letter with more information and an opportunity for you to be involved is posted on the bulletin board in the church lobby.
