Welcome to Danforth Mennonite Church

A peace church on the Danforth

We're glad you found us...

We are a welcoming and inclusive faith community located a block and a half east of Woodbine Ave. on the Danforth. In this place of gathering we seek to love God and love our neighbour. We recognize that following in the way of Jesus calls us to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God." We invite all to be part of this community of hospitality, love and grace.

Land Acknowledgment

The land where Danforth Mennonite Church (DMC) meets has a history. This region has been home to many First Nations Peoples, who have long loved and cared for this land along the north shore of Niigaani Gitchigami (Lake Ontario in Ojibwe).

Affirming

We acknowledge that throughout history the Christian church has often condemned and excluded people for many reasons, especially on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. Danforth Mennonite Church (DMC) is an open and welcoming community of faith-keeping and faith-seeking people who affirm that every person has worth as a unique creation made in the image of God.

anabaptist values

Jesus, the center of our faith.

Community is the centre of our life.

Reconciliation is the centre of our work.

We seek to follow Jesus in everyday life through practicing the ethic of Jesus- love God and love your neighbour. We hold central Jesus’ teachings of love and non-violence and that Scripture is to be interpreted through a Jesus-centered point of view.

“The spiritual life does not remove us from the world but leads us deeper into it”

Henri Nouwen Theologian and spiritual writer
