Danforth Mennonite Church Facility Use Agreement for Long term use

  1. The person responsible for the group, as named in the application form, is responsible for the supervision of all persons entering the building. Unlocked doors must be monitored. The use of the doorbell is encouraged.
  2. Groups shall confine their use of the building to the areas specified in the agreement.
  3. If the kitchen is used for refreshments or meal preparation it must be left clean and tidy, with all implements and utensils washed and returned to their proper places.
  4. Food and beverages are not permitted upstairs in the carpeted areas of the building.
  5. Groups are expected to clean up after themselves and not leave group owned material about the church except by special arrangement.
  6. It is the responsibility of the signing member of the group to see that all persons admitted to the function have vacated the building at the specified time, the lights have been turned off, and the building is secure and that all requirements of the agreement have been carried out upon departure.
  7. A security/janitorial fee may be required against damage, or litter needing to be attended to. All damages to the building or the equipment on the premises are the responsibility of the user group.
  8. We request that no one smokes on the church property. Smoking is not allowed inside the church building. The consumption of spirit beverages is not permitted. Gambling is not permitted. Nor do we permit sports, non-working animals, or boisterous activity in the building.
  9. Fire exits must be kept free of obstructions at all times.
  10. Both the TENANT and the LANDLORD agree to fully comply with their respective, applicable internal policies, as such policies may be amended from time to time, at any time, during the TENANT’S rental period. See APPEXDIX 1 included in this agreement.
  11. The TENANT must follow all guidelines in accordance with relevant federal, provincial and city regulations pertaining to COVID-19 when using our facility
  12. The TENANT is responsible to provide their own PPE (personal protection equipment) in accordance with relevant federal, provincial and city regulations pertaining to COVID-19.
  13. The TENANT will provide evidence of commercial liability insurance to the LANDLORD. The LANDLORD is not responsible for personal injury or damage, or for the loss or theft, of clothing, equipment, or any items of the TENANT.

The original copy of the agreement will be kept by the Danforth Mennonite Church, a copy will be given to the person who signed for the group and a third copy will be forwarded to the Church Treasurer.


APPENDIX I

Conditions for renting space in the church building under Covid Protocols

  1. All group activities inside or outside on church property must follow provincial and regional guidelines. Masks are not required but recommended.
  2. All uses must be reserved ahead of time with the church office. This is to avoid having multiple groups overlapping.
  3. There may be more than one group meeting in the church building.  Each group will have a designated area.
  4. One hour should separate all inside group events using the same area (including washrooms). This is to allow time for fresh air exchange. The areas are: sanctuary, lower hall/kitchen/offices.
