Call to Worship

Leader: Hear, O people of God, and declare that the Lord is our God.

People: Our Lord is indeed God, the One who is Creator of heaven and earth and all who dwell in it.

Leader: We gather in response and gratitude to God’s invitation and love for us.

People: We’ve come to worship the God who created all humanity in God’s image and likeness, equal in dignity and worthy of regard and care.

Leader: Let us worship our great God together.

People: To the God of justice, love, and peace we lift up our hearts and minds and voices.

Leader: For even in the midst of injustice and oppression, this is still the day that the Lord has made.

All: And we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

 

Scripture Reading

Philippians 4:5-13 (NRSVU)
Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. As for the things that you have learned and received and heard and noticed in me, do them, and the God of peace will be with you.

A DISH WITH ONE SPOON

The Indigenous Nations
Welcomed settlers from across the seas
When they arrived in their territories
Such beauty revealed before their eyes
Was beyond their ability to describe
In all the languages that the Settlers spoke
There were no words that could evoke
With any clarity a single thought
That Mother Nature’s splendor brought
It was from the Indigenous tongues
That they learned the language of the Earth
In all Her idioms

Trees standing in the water
A meeting place where small fish could gather

The passenger pigeons rested in MIMICO

DANFORTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Come and join us for MESSY CHURCH which is a
FREE FAMILY EVENT for children 4-12 on June 24th,
Saturday evening from 5-7p.m.

It includes crafts, games, Bible stories, music and dinner.  We ask that parents/caregiver accompany their children at this family event.

Messy Church will be taking a break for the summer and be back in September.

What we need is a bigger (gothic) window!

Ladies Walking group

This will be our last planned walk until September.
On Tuesday, June 27th at 10:30 am (weather permitting), we will be at Warden Woods/Gus Harris Trail (come in off of Pharmacy, north of the Danforth.
 
An email will go out on Monday June 26 to confirm the place and time.

If you need to be picked up or dropped off, please check in with fellow walkers or email Bonnie.
